Varun Dhawan Successfully Concludes Serbia Schedule for Citadel: Latest Updates from Bollywood
Varun Dhawan Concludes Serbia Schedule for Citadel
Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has successfully completed the Serbia schedule of his debut web series, Citadel. The announcement came as Varun shared a photo with the team on Saturday, confirming the wrap-up.
The wrap was also shared by Saqib Saleem, who posted a picture featuring Varun, as well as directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. Saqib captioned the post as "Schedule wrap."
Speaking about the project earlier, Dhawan expressed his excitement, stating, "It has been amazing working on it. We are going to be filming in Serbia. We have a month-long schedule over there with a lot of action. It is a very big series, nothing like people have seen in India yet," in an interview with PTI during IIFA 2023 in May.
Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK are helming the Indian version of Citadel. Dhawan praised the directors, saying, "The makers are pushing the envelope. Samantha and I can't be doing something mediocre. She is one of the hardest working actors. There are some directors who are on your bucket list. For me, it was Shoojit Sircar (October), Sriram Raghavan (Badlapur), and Nitesh Tiwari (Bawaal). Some of my best performances come out when I work with these directors as they push me."
It is worth noting that Varun Dhawan made his international debut with a cameo appearance in Citadel, alongside Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. In the fifth episode, he dubbed a phone call made by Priyanka's character to the character played by Paul Bazely. Varun's cameo was confirmed in the end credits.
The Indian version of Citadel is being directed by Raj & DK, who are also serving as executive producers under their banner D2R Films. The series is a collaboration between D2R Films and Amazon Studios, with AGBO's Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, and David Weil overseeing production. Midnight Radio's Josh Applebaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg serve as executive producers for the Indian Original and all series within the global Citadel universe.
In other news, Varun Dhawan's upcoming film Bawaal, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, is set to release on Amazon Prime Video on July 27, 2023.
