In a series of twists and turns, Vicky Kaushal's departure from Aditya Dhar's ambitious project, The Immortal Ashwatthama, earlier this year had put the film in jeopardy. Jio Studios subsequently stepped in to salvage the project after producer Ronni Screwvala withdrew, citing commercial viability concerns.
Initial reports hinted at Ranveer Singh taking on the lead role, only to later suggest that even he had been ruled out. Speculation then turned to Allu Arjun and Jr NTR as potential replacements.
The latest update from Zoom reveals that despite the names circulating, Ranveer Singh has once again emerged as a contender for the protagonist role and expressed his willingness to be part of the film. However, both Allu Arjun and Jr NTR have reportedly shown reluctance to finalize their involvement.
This development has prompted Jio Studios to reconsider their plans, ultimately leading them to put the project on hold. The studio is now seeking an antagonist of considerable star power to ensure the film receives the desired response at the box office, given the significant investment involved.
