Studio Nicholson Debuts First Japanese Store in Tokyo
Studio Nicholson Expands Presence in Asia with Tokyo Flagship Store Opening
London-based fashion brand Studio Nicholson continues its strategic expansion into the Asian market with the inauguration of its first physical store in Japan, located in Tokyo's vibrant Aoyama district.
This milestone comes hot on the heels of the brand's successful entry into the South Korean market, where it launched its inaugural standalone store in collaboration with Beaker, a division of Samsung C&T Fashion.
According to WWD, the brand's entry into Japan was made possible through a partnership with trading partner Kowa, which helped establish Studio Nicholson's flagship store in the country.
The Japanese flagship store will embody the brand's signature "Modular Wardrobe" concept, a testament to its commitment to versatile and functional fashion.
Reflecting on the launch, Nick Wakeman, the founder and creative director of Studio Nicholson, expressed his deep connection to Tokyo, a city that has inspired him for over two decades. He fondly recalled the city's captivating color palette of beige, brown, and cream, as well as its orderly and exquisite illumination.
Wakeman established Studio Nicholson in 2010, drawing inspiration from Japanese architecture, interior design, grunge music, subcultures of the 1990s, and geological landscapes. His passion for Japan, which he considers a second home, is evident in the brand's aesthetic and design philosophy.
Studio Nicholson currently operates one store in London and three stores in South Korea. Its products are available in over 250 retail locations worldwide.
