From a College Tea Stall to a 35 Million Rupee Business: The Inspiring Journey of Arpit Raj, Founder of 'Chaai Seth'
Chai: More than a Beverage, an Emotional Connection for Indians
Chai, or tea, holds a special place in the hearts of Indians. It is not just a regular beverage but a source of comfort and joy. The day feels empty, dull, and tiring without this energizing drink. Gathering with friends at a chai tapri, engaging in conversations, and sharing heartfelt moments while savoring tea create some of the most cherished memories of our lives. The sheer delight of these experiences is unmatched.
The chai business has become a thriving trend, with numerous success stories making headlines. However, not everyone possesses the qualities required to expand their venture on a national level. It demands dedication, consistent taste, and discipline.
One individual who exemplifies these traits is Arpit Raj, a young man from Bihar. Despite holding a well-paying job, he took the bold step of leaving it behind to launch his startup, Chaai Seth. In 2015, with the support of his friends, Arpit invested a collective amount of 50,000-60,000 rupees to establish a small tea tapri in Shillong, Meghalaya. At that time, it was a modest endeavor without any brand name. Arpit was pursuing a BBA in Hospitality in the hilly state when he embarked on this entrepreneurial journey.
