French startup Gleamer has secured €27 million ($29.5 million) in a Series B funding round for its AI software designed to assist radiologists in diagnosing bone trauma lesions and other conditions. Founded in 2017, the company's flagship product, BoneView, acts as an AI companion for bone trauma x-rays, helping radiologists identify potential anomalies that may be missed by the naked eye. Gleamer's product portfolio also includes ChestView, which aids in the detection of pulmonary pathologies.
With certifications for use in Europe and FDA clearance in the United States, Gleamer has attracted approximately 6,500 users across 650 institutions in 24 countries. The funding comes at a time when there is a growing demand for medical imaging services, driven by factors such as the rise of chronic diseases, under-funded healthcare systems, and aging populations.
The recent funding round, co-led by Supernova Invest and Heal Capital, with participation from XAnge, Elaia, Bpifrance, F3A, MACSF, Crista Galli Ventures, UI Investissement, and several European radiologists, brings Gleamer's total raised funds to €36 million. The company plans to utilize the investment to expand its product offerings to include CT scans and mammography. Additionally, Gleamer aims to expand its team in both Europe and the United States to support its growth and development initiatives.
